At niogod™, our mission to deliver mapless autonomous driving technology relies on the ethical and secure processing of vast amounts of data. We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Consultant with 1–2 years of experience to ensure our innovations remain compliant with global data protection standards, specifically GDPR, as we scale our operations.
In this role, you’ll:
- ▶GDPR Oversight: Act as the primary point of contact for GDPR compliance, ensuring all data acquisition and processing activities align with European privacy regulations.
- ▶Contract Lifecycle: Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), NDAs, and licensing contracts with international partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
- ▶Privacy by Design: Work closely with our engineering teams to implement "Privacy by Design" principles into our AI training pipelines and data engine.
- ▶Risk Assessment: Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and maintain comprehensive records of processing activities (ROPA).
- ▶Policy Development: Draft and update internal compliance policies and external privacy statements to reflect evolving legal landscapes.
What we require:
- ✓Legal Foundation: A degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent) with a focus on IT law, data protection, or corporate compliance.
- ✓Professional Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a legal role, ideally within a tech startup or a specialized law firm.
- ✓GDPR Expertise: Practical knowledge of GDPR and its application to high-tech environments (experience with AI or automotive data is a major plus).
- ✓Language Skills: Proficiency in English (working language); German language skills are highly beneficial for local regulatory compliance.
- ✓Analytical Mindset: The ability to translate complex legal requirements into actionable steps for technical teams.
It’s a plus if you have:
- Experience with international data transfer mechanisms (SCCs, TIA).
- Certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP/E).
- Basic understanding of the legal frameworks surrounding autonomous driving and AI (e.g., AI Act).
